It looks like it would be very lightweight and mobile! It seems like it would work for protection from hawks, as was stated was the main purpose for it.
The chicken wire won't stop predators like foxes which can chew through it, raccoons which will reach through it, or weasels that will just fit right through it. So for areas with predators like these, I would advise hardware cloth instead.
