I hadn't considered it but I live in Southern California. The run is covered so it doesn't get direct rainfall. Sprinklers & splash may be an issue, though minor.
What an ingenious way to build a no-waste feeder!
I wish i had seen this article before i build such a feeder out of a Rubbermade plastic container.
