We sprang for a 10 x 12 shed to transform into a coop for 30 or so chooks. We will be painting and finishing fencing over the next 8-10 weeks.
We are also transforming a thistle and nettle filled wasteland into a small pond and habitat for our 4 ducklings. We found this dog house on Craigslist for $150. Pretty excited to trick it out duckie style!
we are using 6’ dog panels and hardware cloth for a 30’ x 50’ pen. This will be surrounded by a solar Powered electric fence to allow for free ranging when we are home. Coyote and fox have visited us and decimated our small production flocks in the past few years. We think this new set up will prevent them using our hens as their fast food takeout dinners.
