The Odd Angle

You really did a great job cleaning up an old rickety structure and made good use of the materials you had on hand to create a new coop and run.
I would still go ahead and cover all your larger sized wire with 1/2" hardware cloth. What you have will keep most things out. It's the weasels that will get in. Maybe they will find you and maybe they won't. I'd sleep better at night with the 1/2" hardware cloth!
The run will eventually get muddy and sinky without some type of litter in there. You could rake up pine needles from elsewhere in your yard, use old dry leaves or wood chips. If you have access to free wood chips, they are my choice. Hopefully there are no low spots and the run drains well.
Again, you did a really nice job!

And i bet your chickens love them too! Straight and 90° everybody can do! ;)
Beautifully described the conversion from a junk-pile into a beautiful chicken coop.
Many. many pictures and really fun to read. Awesome!

Now we know why they call the "Lean-to's!"
This is an excellent "Narrate as you go," article. It's an easy read, and a real boost for those of us using "found items" to build or rebuild ... "DIY Chickeneering" at its' best! It's also a reminder to those (like me) who tend to keep every little thing because "I might be able to use it someday." It's time to clear out the clutter ... or at least organize it ... again!
