(9) No enclosure in which roosters are quartered shall be located closer than 400 feet to any dwelling, church, school building or place of business on adjacent properties.
the one it appears they are trying to bust me on:
(4) There shall be a minimum lot size for animal raising activities of at least one acre.
we have only banty hens (no roos). not sure if we can get around this since we aren't "raising" our hens any more than we're "raising" our two dogs. either way, i called my lawyer today and he told me to fax him the code and the violation notice. we're playing it nice and quiet to see if we can fight it in an easy manner and hoping for the best. if that doesn't work, well...it might get a little crazy around here.

Sounds like it's time to fight city hall. Look at the post about the NYC coop. In the city folks are allowed an unlimited number of hens, just no roos. Tell your lawyer. And there are other folks on here who have fought and won the right to keep a few hens. I hope it works out for you!
