They have bantam laying breeds. I have only had the buff orpingtons, which I liked , but I have heard good things about the auracana (hatchery EE realy) being very producctive. I have also heard good things about the bantam barred rocks and rhode island reds. Everyone seems to agree the leghorns are good layers, but some say they are flighty. For laying purposes hatchery birds are often better because, although they don't usually meet the breed standard, they have been selected with frequency of lay and egg size in mind. Show birds are selected using more stringent criteria, and thus in those lines laying capabilities often suffer.
