ARG! For those who think relocating predators and pests, please think about it, do your research. Not only are you breaking the law in most cases, but you are helping to spread disease amongst wildlife. I also hate when somebody else dumps their problem critters near me, because i live "in the middle of nowhere" If you are too kindhearted to kill a predator outright, hire an exterminator, or call animal control.

Anything else is just wrong, and illegal.

I've lost too many birds over the years to predators. I make it a point to try the walk to domesticated ones back home and let the owners know... My excuse is my very aggressive Boxer/GS mix growling and whining. Of course no one else knows that that is his way of saying "scratch my butt"

Isn't there like people who relocate animals for a living on animal planet and stuff? Or find a wildlife park or something Im sure their is a alternative then just killing? Poor things have a right to live.

There is, and it is usually Animal control, or the DNR. They could tell you where release is legal, but unfortunately, the jer$s in my area dump them all down around my area. I want to give my old .22 a rest once in a while ya know?

these are the animal planet guys.

I couldn't tell you the number of people I know who set live traps in their gardens to catch thieving raccoons, only to turn around and set them loose somewhere else.

Like you said...not only is it illegal to transport wildlife in most jurisdictions, it's just not a good idea for the wildlife in the trap nor the wildlife in the area where you're planning to turn it loose.

That's why they made laws against it!!!!

I can't figure what people don't get about that...

Thank you,
The only place I relocate is in the ground or the freezer if possible.
I don't like putting my problems on someone else.

I agree! But, on the plus side, you must be an expert marksman by now, LOL! I can't shoot the predator in my area... Bald Eagle. (S)he's beautiful and majestic, but it makes me scared to see him/ her. I'm afraid he/she's gonna take off with my dog or cat.

Drop raccoons or opposums off at my place and I turn them into swiss cheese...
