I've read many posts on here where people mention a pullet's comb and wattles getting redder and bigger and it is a symptom of them about to lay.
Well, with my 2 RIR pullets that are not laying yet (but hoping....any day now...lol), I've noticed at times the comb and wattles looking redder looking and I'll get my hopes up, but then nothing. Then, either later in the day or the next day, the comb and wattles will look more pale..not as red as it was before....???
This morning, I noticed one of my pullets comb and wattles really looking red compared to the other one. Then, this afternoon both of theirs looked red.
What gives? Do they change shades like that or what?
Does anyone have a comparison pic of one of their pullets that is about to lay and then the same pullet when they're not about to lay so I can compare?
