To those of you who don't know Angela, this is her story:
In February of 2009, I began my first incubation of eggs from my own flock, and I successfully hatched 11 chicks. Angela was the only survivor of her brood when a raccoon came into the henhouse and committed a mass murder (chicks, hens, and roosters were slaughtered). So I raised Angela and she became a gorgeous little OEG bantam mutt, and I loved her to death. She began to lay eggs, and after a while she went broody. I put Angela and her clutch into the barn, which is kept open all day for the hens to go in and lay eggs.
One evening (long before raccoons are supposed to come out) a raccoon (the same raccoon that killed our beloved family cockatiel) got into the barn and carried off Angela from her nest. Although she would have been able to escape, she rather gave up her life to save her unborn chicks.
I took Angela's eggs and put them in the incubator. Three were Angela's and three belonged to other hens. Out of these six, four hatched on Sunday, August 9. (The two that died were both Angela's and now I have only one of Angela's chicks).
I have:
One Angela chick
Two of Daphne's (Fawn Silver Duckwing OEGB hen who helped raise Angela when she was a chick)
And one of Diana's (pearl OEGB hen)
Here are some pics of Angela to show you how lovely she was:

My Yokohama hen Miri volunteered to raise these orphaned chicks now that Angela was killed. Here she is with her adopted brood:
