Hello all -

I lurk a lot here and kinda feel like I know some of you just from all I've read...and I think this will be a great place to ask for a little help....

I've got 2 beautiful daughters and my youngest is getting married next June

....it will be the first wedding in our family. So as some of you might guess, this is a MAJOR topic of conversation anytime more than 1 person is in the house. It's real exciting so far and we have another 10 months till the big day! I'm tickled to death about it, by the way, but just not too "into" the planning...if you know what I mean...I spend most of the time smiling, adding expenses up in my head and wondering where the $$ is coming from....

But last night dd told me to get busy and pick a song for "our dance"....the father/daughter dance. Cause if the dj needs to find it he'll have plenty of time. So I started thinking about it and playing some songs on youtube...and this is where I need help.

I don't want to be too cheesy...but I want it to be meaningful. I really like "The way you look tonight" by Tony Bennett...but it's kinda on the cheesy side and kind of cliche...my dd and I are both Springsteen fans (she got me tickets last year for my b-day and we went to a concert together...how cool is that?)...so maybe a Bruce song would be cool. That would be original....

Anybody have any other suggestions for a song? I'm open to any and all ideas...cheesy or non-cheesy...

Thanks -
Dean

My Father-Daughter dance song was "Tough Little Boys" by Gary Allen. It's a country ballad.

'When tough little boys grow up to be dads,
they turn into big babies again.'

It's a good one. Everybody was tearing up!

In a good way.

well when I got married last year we (dad and I) had our dance to "Butterfly kisses" it was nice but WAY too long so if you wanted to shorten it I thought that one was good.

try a google search for "father/daughter dance" and you'll get a bunch. Just listen until you find one that strikes you. That's what I had to do for my DH and his mom's dance. They both wanted to dance but had no clue on the song... so I chose for them lol.

I don't think I'd ever make it through a dance ...it's definately on my list.

(By Heartland) LOVE IT!!! This is the song that my dad and I danced to at my wedding.

My sister danced to Joe Cocker - You are So Beautiful. The alternative song was Elvis - Memories.

My best friend danced to Butterfly Kisses (Bob Carlisle) with her dad.
