I need to see pictures of Play Skool Coops...we live out in the country on 4 acres, a house down the road from us burned down, and the neighbors had a play skool out there, it wasnt touched by the fire, but they did throw it out in the trash and moved away.

Im going to bleach it good to clean, does anyone else think it might need more than that? They use to have a dog in it. also the windows dont have any covering...how would I maybe attached chicken wire or something so that i can close the coop, if I screw into it will it crack??

And do you think I should raise it off the ground some???...we live in an area that floods some...but if Im putting 2 nest boxes in it...I would raise it, right? and how do I attach roost??? And do you think I can paint it solid on the brown part to get rid of the pink color...

and what kind of paint would not just not smear but stick on plastic...

IDEAS MY FRIENDS....

Here is what I got, I need a coop for my buff orps they are 1mo old, and DH has been working alot, so thought this would do ok for a 1 or so until DH could fix me up

I want to cover up the back wall, and I want to cover the windows...any ideas? its alot to cover, but ALOT easier for now until DH can get me a coop. Of course DH had to load it up and drag it over here, but willing as long as more time is bought on giving it time for building one. Said make this work if Im hauling it, dont want to do this for nothing...SO IM DETERMIND....

Here is one idea from an earlier thread:

There is spray paint made specifically for plastic. Find it at any hardware store in lots of colors. You'll need to craft a door or two. Maybe look for cabinet doors because they are smaller. You can drill into the plastic without cracking it. Also, I would attach the hardware cloth with screws threaded through machine fender washers because they hold well and are easy to remove if needed.

When its finally done, I will post it again.

Ok been working on the Play/Coop house...decided to paint it...we wanted to cover up the door way and windows, and mainly the big side opening....we were going to do chicken wire but DH came up with a better idea...we had old box fans that are waiting on trash day....

So DH took off the facing, the grill as I call them...and adding that to the windows!!! I thought that would look good, there white and also have the "house" look....today was painting...here is what I have so far. and for a nest box, Im using a milk crate on the little ledge.

I wasnt going to paint the roof, after I painted the sides, the roof looked worn...so now Im going to do the roof...BUT...I was thinking and Im not sure how it would look...but I thad thought of getting big plastic leafs..and putting them in layers on the roof to give it the look as the roof but out of leaves...??? not sure yet...JUST A THOUGHT...lol

Now DH thinks I should buy more paint and outline the frames of the windows to bring it out more...Pssst. this is the person who I couldnt get to work on it...

Aren't men hilarious? I've learned (raising 3 ds) that if I make it a challenge, or use a complicated/dangerous tool, or get started by doing it differently than they think I should.....they jump right in and take over. I love my men, but they can be so frustrating!
