After I completed the "Another-Star" blocks for ginbarts swap......It came to me that the blocks were so simple once they were explained in a certain.....ummm.....language

that I could understand.

This is going to be an Anniversary gift to my Hubby and I.....this year will be 10 years and so many were betting that we wouldn't make it. At times I thought they would be right but by the grace of God and the love a mighty Saviour.....we have seen it through and are closer now than ever before. He knows I am making the blocks but he doesn't know what their for. I sure hope he likes it.

Here are a few of the blocks.....I am switching the fabrics on each block to get a different pattern

Our Anniversary is in April so I am going to work on this on a daily basis until then. As I get a few blocks done I'll post them here and as the quilt grows I'll do the same. Sure hope you all have fun watching this quilt grow along with me.

It's going to be very pretty and so special. I have to tell you, my Mom has made so many things right in front of me and I just figured she was sewing for someone else at the time. You would think after a while I would catch on, but I am always surprised when I open a gift and find that item in the box. So just keeping sewing like it is normal and he will never catch on to the surprise to come

Mom is now 83 and still gets away with this....I think I must be a slow learner.

Thanks for all the compliments.

I am going to work on a few more blocks tonight and tomorrow since we are in for a long snowy weekend

Isn't it amazing how many blocks you can get from just 4 different fabrics.....

Sometimes hubbys just don't have a clue.....{{{snicker snicker}}}

Well.....I got 12 different blocks from the 4 fabrics I am using. I am now working on 8 duplicate blocks so that I'l have 20 blocks. I hope to find more fabric like this so that I can also put a row of the stars at the top (head of quilt). I am going back and forth with the borders I'd like to do. I'd like to do solid borders but I'd also like to do strip borders all the way around the edge and maybe do a solid in the middle. Who know how it will end up. That's what I love about quilting.....so many different ways you can do it.

Here is the first 6 blocks that I want to be the focal point of the quilt. I am going to add another border around the edge or I am going to add the rest of the star blocks and then border after that.....not really sure. Do any of you have any good ideas?
