What should I call it if it has whole wheat in it? Mine is 1/3 whole wheat. Should I call it "all-purpose, bread flour, whole wheat bread"? I mean, it's all wheat, just different grades of milling. Has other ingredients too tbh.Wish I could say that I bookmarked that wheat bread recipe
Also, if it has all purpose flour or bread flour please for my sanity don't call your recipe whole wheat. If I wanted wheat bread with regular non whole wheat flour I'd just buy a loaf from the bakery section of the supermarket

Thanks. I'll start experimenting for you. But in my experience 100% whole wheat bread lacks sufficient gluten to rise satisfactorily and tends to have the density and texture of a brick.I'd just call it wheat. Whole wheat bread to me is bread with just whole wheat flour and not mixed with regular all purpose or bread flour.
In any case, I wish there better terminology so I could more clearly put in that I only want recipes with just whole wheat flour, not mixed with other flours. Makes finding that one recipe I use or a suitable alternative very annoying

Nope. "100% whole wheat" only means that some percentage of 100% whole wheat has been included in the manufacture of that bread. It could be a tablespoon. "We put some 100% whole wheat into this bread." Seriously.I wonder if searching for "100% whole wheat" would help find the recipe you want?
When I look at bread loaves in the store, "100% whole wheat" is what I look for, if I want bread where all the flour is whole wheat and there is no white flour involved.
The ones that say "wheat" will generally have some white flour in them along with some whole wheat.
And of course the ones that say "white" are white bread.
I don't know if the same terms get used for recipes.
Oh, and I am in the USA. I don't see your location, but if you are in a different country from me, things might go by different names.

For the loaves of bread I find in the store, if the package says "100% whole wheat" in big letters, the ingredients do not list other kinds of flour. If exceptions exist, I have not seen them (and yes, I have looked. I look at the big label and then I check the ingredients before I decide about buying it.)
