Today I was faced with the discussion of whether or not parents should have a licence before having kids, but the problem is I'm split and I want to know, what do you guys think?

Be open and honest.

nope.

No.

But I DO think that anyone intentionally contemplating becoming a Parent should have some "psychoanalysis".

They gotta be CRAZY !!!

Problem is, that common sence, isn't common.

I know a few people should never have had kids!

Nope. Licensing would mean that an individual would have to accept some cookie-cutter standards of parenting instead of their own liberal or conservative ones. Kids would become less individual instead of more open to things that are new and different. Our "melting pot" approach to life has made us the country that we are, peopled as it were with individuals of widely varying points of view. That variety is our strength.

realistically, NO. But some people should be neutered so they can't have kids.

yes. because i'm tired of seeing these parents that treat their kids like trash like they are disposable. no human being should ever have to endure what some of these mistake children do. i'm very against government involvement in our lives but i think it is just plain disgusting that some of these people are allowed to keep their children.

lol I guess I should point out tho that I am licensed in the state of michigan, license # cf250295656 lol. I am allowed up to 6 foster kids, and as many of my own as I want as that is the state's regulations. On any average day I have somewhere between 8-11 kids running around the house. I find it gets less crazy if I stay in a central location and delegate orders from my older kids to the younger ones.

At the end of the day we all get together to cook, share stories, eat and plan the next day.

Rusty - I do have a set of parenting standards I have to follow when I accepted my license from the state of Michigan. There are ways to make the kids respectable and polite no matter how hard a life they lead

Many of ours come from inner cities where the social standards are very low IMHO.

Annanicole - Not sure if I would call them "mistake" children, but the government, state, and local counties do remove kids for cause. The problem is, everybody is too busy looking after themselves and rarely extends a hand to those who so desperately need it. You aren't being a busy body by reporting, and worse case scenario you upset someone.

Kids are our future. If we allow them to grow up as thief's, thugs, murderers, psychopaths and sociopaths, our future is pretty bleak. Instead of "mistake" or disposable.. lets mentor, encourage, nurture, love and help.

I don't think parents should have to have a license to have children, that would be absurd. And I don't think I have ever seen a mistake child either. No child is a mistake!!
