HI again, I gotta clean out the bator and heat it back up and then I'll be setting my silkies.

I set my eggs today also

Other than an attempt to hatch eggs in a borrowed styro foam bator, that was nothing but a disaster this is my first time

I just got a brinsea bator, and I got my eggs locally so I am hoping I will have a good 1st hatch

Can I join this thread? I don't have an incubator, but I'm letting my little broody Silkie sit on 7 of her eggs. I gave them to her on Sunday afternoon...EDD 4/25.

They're all her eggs and she's a White Silkie, but I have 4 roos so they will probably be mixed babies. My roos are White Silkie, Black Sizzle, Rhode Island Red, and RIR/Leghorn mix. I don't "think" the big boys have been with her, but I don't know for sure. I guess we'll see what we get

I set some eggs yesterday so I'll be due 4/26. Wheaten Ameraucanas from my flock plus BCM, Frizzle Standard Cochin, and BBS Ameraucana eggs that were shipped.

Sometimes surprises are the best! I have a Cochin sitting on eggs from my pen of Frizzles, Cochins, EEs, and Wheaten Ameraucanas. Who knows what I'll get!

I have a broody that I put eggs under Sunday night. We're due 25 or 26. Not quite the same, and being a first time broody, don't know if she'll stick it out. If they hatch, I also will have mixed breeds & I have no idea what. I know one came from a bantam. All 10 eggs are from a friend and she ordered a couple of the assorted bargains from McMurray. Can I be included, too?

Aha...found you...I got logged out and had to reset my password.

Ok, for my next trick...
This hatch currently has:

12 Cayuga duck eggs
7 pekin duck eggs from my garden

3 mystery chicken eggs that were sent as a freebie with my duck eggs
2 eggs of my own that were going to be eaten. Buff orpington mom, black australorp dad.

Duck eggs are due 26th April

Holding out to candle on day 12.
Today is day 8.

So there we are...

Lets get hatching!

Can I join too? After a failed first hatch I'm trying again, collected 22 eggs yesterday silkies, pekins and some mystery ones, set them today and hoping for a better result. Of the last 12 shipped eggs 6 were clear, 3 had blood rings at 7 days and 3 made it to day 21 but never pipped, I left them in the incubator until day 25 hoping but no luck. Very sad. I think I need to up the humidity and have moved the bator to a room with a more constant temperature.

Hello everyone!!
I didnt think anyone had responded, but I guess I hadnt subscribed to my own thread!!!

Hello again Amy and Loopy!!! Here we go again!
I just set the other 15 I picked up today, 6 white, 9 green (the guy wants some of the hatchlings from the white eggs..hope they hatch!).

Hello to everyone else. I LOVE frizzles....I gotta get me some frizzles!!!
Sure, TXMOM & WYO-HELPMEET, join in even if not the same dates and using broody hens. I dont have any old enough to be broody yet, but will try it eventually.
KELLYHM-welcome! CLUCKERS- you lucky! Im eyeballing a brinsea eco 20..!

I have 1 egg that had a small crack from shipping....small amount of clear fluid on egg. We fixed with nail polish and have

that it develops. It is marked araucana.

Morag- my 1st hatch was a complete bust, started with 13 eggs, only 4 made to lockdown, none hatched. My 2nd hatch was 13 to start, 9 to lockdown, 1 hatchling that has a messed up leg. He sure is cute though. I keep my new babies with him for the 1st couple of days, then move to appropriate brooder...just so he wont be alone. Just dont want him to be run over by larger chicks (hes bantam cochin).

Good luck everyone!!!!
