The fan kit comes with connectors that let you splice into the
cord that feeds the thermostat.

The thermostat has 4 wires coming out, 2 for the heater and 2 that
go to the plug. The fan get connected to the plug wires.
You can strip off some insulation, connect the fan wire, and tape
in with a good electrical tape.

I'll run downstairs and take a pic. BRB

The wire going to the fan is under the white thermostat cover so don't let it confuse
you.

Simply:

Wall ----------------------x---------- Thermo
----------------------x----------

Connect the fan wires to the two x's.

You can get Scotchlock connectors at Radio shack or use wire nuts.
Tape is ok just make sure it doesn't peel off. It is 120 volts, not enough
to kill but enough to start a fire.

The scothlocks are nice because they tap into the plug wires without having to cut them.

The fan is fed from 120. You can also cut the end off an exention cord and give the
fan it's own plug.

okay, it ISN'T the fan made for the LG bator. . .

it is a smaller fan with the letters AMD (i think it is a computer fan) on it and it has three wires coming out of it a red one, a blue one and a black one.

any ideas?

Anything else written on the fan. It's probably a 12 volt DC fan. An AC adaptor
at Wallmart may do it.

I opted for the Little Giant fan kits. They are $32. Could I have done it cheaper? Sure.

thank you purple chicken.

i think, to avoid electrocution, i may order the LG fan and go with that.

sigh.

lectricity scares me!

That's the best idea. Computer fans work differently. You can make them
work but IMO it's more hassle than it's worth.

Oh, I highly reccomend a turner for that LG. Keeping the temp stable is
hard enough without having to open it 3 time a day.

Mt first 2 bators were 9200s and I added 7200 fan kits.
My third was the 10200 which is a 9200 with the 7200 fan
already installed. That is what the picture is. There is no difference
other than you don't have to put the fan in yourself.

I'm an electronic technician/electrician and I had to think about
it when I installed the fans. I don't think the fan kit is even touched
by Little Giant. They just buy them already boxed from a
supplier. I can't even remember seeing instructions in the box.
