Ollie is one of the meaties that I took in as a rescue. They are 14 weeks old and Ollie was the lucky cockerel that got to stay.
He's very active and friendly, follows me everywhere on the farm while I do my chicken chores. Despite that, it took two of us to catch the not-so-little booger to weigh him.

I would have gotten more pics of him, but after being chased to be weighed he was in no mood to deal with humans.

Almost!

I was just outside with them and I witnessed my silkie pullet having a stare down with one of the meatie pullets. The silkie is either very very brave or very very dumb.

Yep, that he is. I can't wait for him to get some nice tailfeathers, but the meaties are of course slow to feather. I think he's handsome, but I'm partial

my neighbor had one of these that she rescued after it fell off the chicken truck across the way. He just got huger and huger till one day he just couldnt go anymore. Id say he lived close to a year but he was the meanest thing, actually attacked my chicken loving dog when we were down there. She was so shocked and knew she couldnt fight back, we had to pull the roo off the dog.

He needs some BIG heritage Delawares or RIR hens to keep him company.

As long as they can hold up under pressure.

Sorry, hang on whilst I wipe up my spewed coffee. *wiping tears from eyes*

I have a Delaware and a RIR in my flock, and they ARE big girls. That just cracked me up!
