I am going to be showing some of my paints that are hatching out now. None of mine are very old yet so sexing is still pretty much up in the air. I am not breeding with THE AMERICAN PAINTS so I felt maybe I should start another thread?
I am breeding with two paints that came from European lines. I refer to them as the Euros. I rarely name silkies anymore but these two are special so they are Adam and Eve.
I plan to take pics of the two breeding pens and several difference ages of chicks. Deb and I are finding the same results between what she is hatching from the lines from here and the Euros. I'll try and take pics to show the feathering as well as the open places in the toe and foot pigment. I will TRY to take pictures of Adam's eyes but doubt I can get that to show. His does have blank areas in his eyes too.
Meet Adam and Eve
Adam has the brownish looking feathering of a lot of males. This was during the summer and although his wings are weak they are drooping with the heat.
Eve is showing much better white color. She has a better full crest than Adam. His needs work. Eve was not liking the Texas heat either.
