My bok choi seedlings are now under 7+ inches of snow and more is expected overnight. I bet they'll be dead when the snow melts in a few days. It hasn't snowed this much all winter.... combined!!! Feels like December again. Guess breaking some snow fall and cold temps records in the area too.
And this is a good reason to why I don't normally put anything out till mid to late May! Weather is probably my fault for putting out sprouts early early! All the tomatoes and replacement bok choi are toasty in the house.

Just last week was our summer average high too... a smokin 75F!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr....... We had snow this past week here in the mountains but not that much!....Then it hit 76 yesterday!!... geesh...
 
So sorry about your garden. I am so ready for spring, Wow you are in Washington that is crazy. I lived most of my life in WA snow at this time is crazy.
 
Dont worry., mine are under 8 inches just up the hill from you. Your Bok choi will do fine. A couple of years ago my starts were under snow for a week, and the plastic blew off the cold frame and they came charging back.

We had power out last night and 53 -4 week olds in brooders, and they are fine this morning.

By the way, got our first pullet ping pong egg from 4.5 month olds. My daughter was very excited since we werent expecting eggs till June.
 
Sure did dump on us before heading over the mountains! It's melting pretty good now so it's back down to like 6 inches after who knows what it peaked at last night.

Lights flickered but that was it here. I sure hope the bok choi will be ok... but they are pretty fresh transplants. About 6 days in the new outdoors so they are tender tender. We'll have to see tomorrow when it all melts.

Congrats on the pullet egg! Maybe that lighting scared the egg out of her! It was really cool to see because the sky lit up like distant fireworks. (I was outside at like 1 am building a snow fort again. LOL)
 
We're on the south end of this system, and the snow levels are supposed to be low enougn tonight to give us a chance of some. Boy, this is going to confuse some chickens! It's been in the 70's and 80's....until today!

I hope the plants are okay.
 
By the way, the black broilers are weigning in today at 3.5 pounds at 5 weeks of age. i sure do like them because they act like chickens still and love greens. The white rocks (same age) are small compared to them. Kicking them out into the greenhouse hopefully tomorrow. They do quite well on the non-medicated turkey grower.

These are tame growers with half the work compared to those pekin ducks.
