We started this coop last year we used old pallets and scrap plywood and shower doors and an old wooden toy box. My DH also used about 90% of the nails that came out of the pallets. I did buy the recycled rubber flooring (its made out of wood pulp and recycled plastic bottles) it won't rot and termites won't eat it. There is a coop part and a storage area for me to store the straw and feed. My DH also built a feeder that holds a whole bag of feed. There are 4 nest boxes that open on the outside for easy gathering of eggs. Under the nest boxes is a flap to use for cleaning the straw out. We will be building the attached run this month. Right now my 5 new babies are using it as there brooder and grow out area. The only thing left to add is a piece of wood to the angle part above the door it will be able to open for ventilation and the tall part in the storage area it will be able to be opened for ventilation and also have a piece of glass for extra light. We have to add roost and the water container. Let me know what you think here is the pictures.
Side view with human entrance to storage area. There is hardware cloth on the hole now.
front side chicken door which is on a rope for opening while outside of run.

Not the best picture but this is the shower door and feeder that blocks the coop area from the storage area
The flap under nest boxes lifts for cleaning
So what does every one think of my recycled pallet coop
