Deerman - This is the first chick from the Charcoal White Eye (I named him Hades) I got from you. It hatched less then two hours when the pics were taken. I know it is his (egg) cause it came from his pen. I believe it is from the IB Split to Charcoal hen. If it was from the purple BS hen wouldn't the chick be yellow/white?

great looking chick none of little blues charcoal chicks hatched she loves the charcoal we want to breed them with our whites.

nice.........no if from the purple bs hen...it would be look blue split purple, if male . all chicks split charcoal ,and BS. The charcoal white eye is not split bs,or purple.

Here are some new ones I took around midnight. I have no clue what color a baby charcoal looks like LMAO! His/her coloring isn't as brown looking as the other blue pied chicks, it's darker and with more greyish. Well here are the new pictures:

He walked up to the lens so you have to include that shot

It not charcoal color. A charcoal chick will be nearly all gray when it hatches out will look about like a opal chick. Charcoal color chicks are hard to get only one to ever 7 to 8 chicks will be charcoal color. The first year I raised charcoal I hatch 16 chicks only two were charcoal color and both turn out to be hens and gave them both away. Here a month old charcoal and charcoal blackshoulder chick.
