Yes its charcoal......now hope its a male, hard for me to tell if its white eye , but good odds it is ,as only one parent needs to be W.E. SO it from your split charcoal hen. not the purple hen

Thrilled to be here. This is my first posting.
You have a very nice charcoal chick.
I have had a similar dilemma with one of our charcoal chicks.
Photo is of 3 charcoal chicks. All from the same pen. The larger chick that does look charcoal I am hoping is male. Last years charcoal chicks two hens had no barring. A male was hatched but he had a huge open navel and died shortly after hatch. Real disappointing.
Not easy hatching a charcoal colored chick it seems. Mostly IB coloration.
Looking forward to meeting new people who love birds.
