Thanks bird. They have grown since those photos were taken. They grow up fast.

Ok I wanted to add the new chciks' pictures to this thread. I took the last 5 hatchers (hatched 8/19) who got caught in the incubator fan out of the brooder and into the grow out tub with the last ones posted here. They are a week or less apart in age. So far all the chicks born brown (IB looking) have turned gray which means they are charcoal. Now I have to hope for males

The ones lighter two up front in the picture below are turning gray and they were as dark as the 2 younger ones and the same color as the brown on the pied. They are one big happy family now

I went downstairs and this little one was looking back at me this morning (9/2).

Here are the pics of the 2 that hatched today. I do not know where the pieds are coming from as the hens are IB split to Charcoal and a Purple BS. The father is Charcoal W/E, could these combos produce a pied?

Yoda the charcoal white eye...has silver pied in his background.......reason for the pieds when mated to a pied.

Reason you could get white chick from him also if mated to a pied..

Deerman, He was in with the IB split to charcoal hen and the purple BS hen. The pied hen was with the silver pied male. I marked the eggs as follows: "C" charcoal pen and "W" for the pied pen. The "W" eggs did not hatch, none were fertile. The only eggs in the incubator are from the "C" pen as you can see in the picture in post #41. The "white chicks" are not BS? I thought they were cause the Purple BS hen is in that pen. The only eggs I am not sure of are the ones I am collecting every 2 days in the month of Sept. Eggs stopped laying in 3rd week August and started again on 9/02.

Had 3 more chicks hatch last night

Chick #16 hatched backwards, it's head was at the pointy side of the egg. It is slowly standing and walking but sits most of the time. Better then he was when he hatched! Number 17 is hatching now
