Hi Beth! Not sure if I am going, I seem to be gravitating to rabbits now! LOL, I have all the chickens I need right now and am so afraid of bringing home illness and having to treat with winter coming. It is so irresponsible for people that bring sick birds and also people that refuse to even give any paperwork proving they have a tested flock. I know someone that got birds that ended up being sick and the seller will not give NPIP test proof and that is so not fair. It can only mean they are not tested and that voids all and any testing a buyer will have gone thru, even selling eggs that are from an untested flock void a buyers NPIP status. So if I buy anything from now on or even sell anything, I am providing a copy of my NPIP weather they ask or not, and I am also asking for it if I buy and if the seller refuses I will call whatever state i am in and ask them for a copy. It is a matter of public record I believe.

I wouldn't worry about this show b/c I've been to it a few times now. Maybe you'll change your mind and pop in

As for the NPIP thingy in CT in your first year you are not assigned a number b/c you must prove to the State that you have clean consistant tests for one year. Then they assign you a number. I tested my birds prior to applying for the NPIP in April so, I always offer a copy of my test results showing my flock is negative for both strands of AI and S. Pullorum. It would be nice if all did it but, I guess some folks don't love their babies as much as you and I do

I will definitely be there! Lexi will show and I will have some to sell. I believe I'll have some buff cockerals, possibly girls too if I'm not crazy about them. Also, I'm considering bringing some of my pet quality hens. I may bring hatching eggs too if I have a couple dozen at the time, but that will depend on how selfish I'm feeling and if I'm ready yet to part with any. I have a feeling I'll be hatching all winter and housing the babies in the garage during the cold months. I want to have LOTS more breeders in the spring.

Hey, anyone from CT that is going (besides my bestest chicky peep PamB cause I know your going
wink.png
) to this show can we start a list and work out a get together? I'd love to see some of my CT friends there. You don't have to show you can come hang out and look at the sale birds. This show usually has a huge sale area. I would say plan on getting there 8am sharp if you are a serious buyer or if you are coming to just hang out come at anytime the show pretty much runs for sure up till 3pm. Thanks, Beth
