Do you know what kind of worms they are... I'm afraid if it's maggots, it's not gonna be pretty.
If it's a roundworm, it's a different way to treat. Can you UGH post a pic?

Yep, its maggots, they've eaten quite a bit adn she has a huge wound lower right of her vent. I flushed all I could see, and now about to apply some peroxide to the wound, but it doesn't look good, she's fine so far, just weak, but I dunno how to heal that wound without flies returning.

There's a product used on horses to prevent maggots from getting into a wound. I think it's called Scat, something like that; shouldn't be hard to find where horse supplies are sold.

You need to pick every one off and smash them then bath the bird in soap and bug killer, then we put vetricen ?sp on it to heal up the area that was effected. keep the area clean of all poop.

thanks for all the advice! flushed most of em, then did a 2nd flush at get all the hiding ones, and will keep doing that until... wound is huge, its 1.5"x1.5" she's isolated in a cage to hopefully heal up, will try to get that anti maggot stuff later. some worms are hiding in the vent itself, there's sores there as well around the vent and some fresh blood. mostly the wound is lowerright of vent, on the body.

part of the wound is under the skin, its really hard to get to, its pretty deep; will try to get a pic later

crazy stuff...

cleaned out the nesting boxes of old hay, maybe green hay isnt best? have some brown dried hay...

Maggots eat rotting flesh, the best thing for her right now will probably be neosporin ointment.
It will soothe the skin, keep it covered, and most importantly, smother the maggots.
You need to manually pick all the worms off, and any of the egg cases, they look like yellow-tanish crumbs.
Those are the worst, very hard to get off, but if you don't, more will hatch.
Good luck, I hope your girl does OK
