Help me out here... I'm doing a bit of a study. Tell me why you keep chickens (the main reason should be the one you pick in the poll). I'm doing a social study of this region and you fellow BYCers could help me out alot....

I picked "Eggs" because I suppose that is still the main reason I started. I completely enjoy other aspects like breeding, showing, selling excess birds, meat, etc. etc. but those reasons are really just the hobby fun side of it. The serious side for us started with and is still fresh organic eggs from happy chickens. It also gives us the opportunity to help out a few people with a little extra food most weeks.
