I think the Cochins are a big feature at the spring show, but I'll defer to wegotchickens on this, she has the full scoop.

Sorry you can't make it to the show. It starts officially at 9am, but selling will start earlier...
I have a breeding trio of millies, but am not planning to bring their chicks to sell unless there's an interest. And I'm negotiating for a breeding quad of porcelains. Maybe we can work something out later on!

My mille fleur trio have won at 2 different 2008 shows, but I'm not showing them at this one.

Ive never been to the show in Newport, but I would say they will start selling birds around 7 or 8 the show starts at 9. Wegotchickens is probaly the one to ask for the details.

Is there a lot of buying of mixed breeds?
I have 6 I'd love to rehome... I have this lovely blue mixed australorp/orpington and a couple of sisters etc?
I also have 4 production type BO and 1 same type GLW plus almost 1 year od BO rooster

interesting... any opinions?

if they don't sell, I'd have to put them all into quarantine when I return... what are the odds you think?
 
Okay, I think Newport should take about an hour for me to get there so will try to leave here by 6am, 7 at the latest so I can see what all is going on with the selling (even if I **shouldn't** buy any . . . but if there are any polish chicks . . . since I don't have an incubator, I might be bad and buy some) Soo in theory I will be there by 7 or 8 am. I will wear a doberman shirt of some kind, I don't have a BYC shirt and didn't think to order one in time

I'm taking my 2 because if they don't find a home there, then they're going to a 'rooster farm' a guy I know has. He loves to get my extra birds...

I haven't ever been to the fairgrounds, but the rain won't be a big deal will it? How much of the area is covered? How 'bout people selling birds... do they do it inside or out? Thanks!
