Well this is my first attempt at having chickens and for 6 weeks is was going great. Then I lost my white rock and the very next day my lively silver phoenix 1 1/2 years old all of a sudden got real sick normally he would not let you come near him but he just sat there like he was oblivious to everything and let me pick him up in which I took him to a different area my quarantine cage and when I went out to check on hime he was dead! so.. I was worring about that all day and now that I am home again another roo Is starting to get the same symptoms they look like they are keeping their eyes closed. head tucked into their body very sleepy or could be no energy at all. also on the males the comb on the top of their head looks like it has blue or a darker tint to the comb which is falling over to the side. and from when I noticed it on the male 18 hrs later he will not move and if he does it is slow and with alot of effort. also the stool looks like it is white diarrea. also I am going to include a few pics of the stool and the chicken I have them on duramycin-10 antibiotic right now mixed in the water in all pens as it must be contagious either airborne or in the stool but now I got one sick that is 30 ft away. I also bought sulmet which I havent used yet because I didnt want to mix these in the water but at this point I think I am looking at a total loss anyway unless I do something drastic btw I have like 35 chickens 9 different breeds so far three breeds affected.

The behavior could be signs of Coccidiosis. From what I've read, bloody poop isn't always present... at least as first symptoms. They can have symptoms like yours are, especially if slightly older birds but that have been exposed to a new strain they haven't encountered before. (Been having any wet weather recently? That seems to 'stir it up' and let it multiply rapidly, overwhelming the birds' immune system if they haven't gotten immunity from past exposure to that strain... it's naturally occurring in the soil. ALL soil.)
Corid or sulmet to treat that... it's a protozoa, not bacterial and antibiotics won't help it.
If they're not eating or drinking, you may have to syringe it down their throats until they start drinking/feeling better. (Take care to get past the 'windpipe' so they don't aspirate it)

Treat ALL birds if it's Cocci...

I wouldn't mix the two meds in the water at once...but if you've used the first antibiotic for 2-3 days with no improvement of symptoms, I'd discontinue it-- whatever it is, isn't responding to what you're using.

The blue combs are usually due to low oxygen/lowered blood flow/circulation in these cases, I think.

Appearance of Feces
Droppings with blood = coccidiosis
Greenish droppings = late stages of worms (or has eaten a lot of green
vegetables if free-ranged)
White, milky runny droppings = worms, coccidiosis, Gumboro disease
(Infectious Bursal Disease)

8
Appearance of Feces (continued)
Brown runny droppings = E. coli infection
Clear or watery runny droppings = stress, Infectious Bronchitis
Yellow & foamy droppings = coccidiosis
Grayish white & running continuously = vent gleet (a chronic disease of the
cloaca of domestic birds)

ok the next few pics are of my regular pens that are 12 by 16 outdoor run with 12 x5 by 8' high coop actually it is a 12.5x.12.5.8 chicken divided in thirds with one side for one run one side for the other and the middle for feed and water.one side has the white one you see and a yokohama roo and 6 yokohama hens. and on the other side is the brown one and 8 white rock hens. then 35 to 40 fet away I have a barn that I have a 12 x 12 stall that I put new birds in for 4 weeks in which I bought the 1 and 1/2 year phoenix roo and 6 leghorns and 5 more silver phoenix that when all bought together so I put them in the room together. now every area I have has at least 1 sick bird I think poss more. anyway the brown in one pen the white in another with my layers so it spread throughout probably my own stupidity and transferred through air or more likely through my shoes walking from one to the other at feeding time... oh the droppings are fresh from the black bird in the first pic both pics are.
