I'm gonna use her to make some olive eggers a couple months down the road... I can't do that with a cockerel!
 
Probably not until around May, we're concentrating our breeding efforts on the stock we currently have now, and into early spring. I really want to hatch some of my own BW Ameraucanas, plus my English Orps should start laying fully not too long after the January so I want to get some of their eggs in the 'baton, too.

Actually I will probably be giving up a few of these wheaten marans pullets I have as I'm looking to keep only a certain coloring, HOWEVER sorry I won't know for another 5 months...
 
You're going to be breeding towards a lighter hen, right Cheryl? Are you concerned about potential color faults that that may cause in your males?
