Worst tragedy ever!!! will they die?????

Ok, my 1 & 2 day old newly hatched chicks are dying! we bought one of those plastic mason jar waterers today because they were drinking the water in the dish so fast I was filling it every 2 hours! My husband went downstairs and heard frantic cheeping. IT had knocked over and all the chicks were soaking wet with freezing cold water. Who knows how long they were like that! Some stayed partially dry huddled in the corner and some were soaked lying on their backs with legs and wings extended barely alive. We immediately got a small box with the brooding lamp and put the mostly dry ones int there, the dying ones went in my cleavage and the freezing on my belly. DH got a heating pad and a cloth and we made a wArm nest. some have revived and went into the brooder with the others, but there are 6 that are semi limp or really stiff. What do we do??? My daughter decided to come down with the stomach flu at the same time and i'm just hysterical at this point. I feel awful. I feel like a murderer.
 
CALM DOWN.

Some might die, but if they're warmed back up quickly then you should be able to save at least some of them. Dry them, warm them up, and then we need to figure out what happened to tip over the waterer.

Try blow drying the really wet ones - on low power. It worked with one of our day old chicks that got wet and was almost dead. Good Luck!
 
DH is staying with them, he says some are starting to get up now. I don't know why the waterer fell over. It seems top heavy but its the one I've heard many others use. Should I put a rock in it? I'm so mad at myself. But the good thing is, DH doesn't like chickens, but is really worried about them and the worse one he revived and kept warm himself and calls it his chick. They are reviving fast! I hope they all make it. they are almost dry and not shivering. All but 2 are back in the brooder!

I filled it to the top! And it is plastic so its lighter than a mason jar...ughhhh. I'm doing everything wrong.
 
I have at least 5 of them and I have never had a problem with them tipping over - How could it be top heavy if the water comes out the bottom? Doesn't the water go to the bottom and come out?
Edited to say, maybe the top wasn't screwed on all the way?
