No snow here. Just cold, drizzly-wet. About the time I think spring is here to stay the weather makes a liar out of me. We have all the signs of spring, now if the nice weather would stick around for a while maybe I could get a little more done.

Hubby's goats had some more babies.
Barn cat had 6 kittens.
I'm ready to go turkey hunting and morel mushroom hunting.
I've got several eggs in lockdown. One hatched, one pipped. (Golden Lakenvelders) I hope some more hatch. I've not had very good luck with this incubator. I hope I can get a nicer one sometime this coming year. It doesn't have to be big, just DEPENDABLE!

Oh Susie, you have my mouth watering now!

Marans and Morel Omelets!! YUMMMM!!!

Morel omlets? I haven't tried that.... I'll have to give it a whirl.

It's a long walk through the cornfield to where the morels are. I think I will go later this afternoon. Right now I'm going to get a few chores done and do a little work on that barn that I'm way behind on in the race with Math. I've done a big fat ZERO on it for several days, but hopefully I can make up some time on it today.... if I can just get DH over there with the skidsteer!

yeah....I feel the same about spring...its driving me insane not being able to just get outside and work for several days in a row...its been one day here and one day there...all the while my to do list keeps growing

What kind of baby goats do you have there? I'm on the hunt for a couple of young does to replace one of mine that was my favorite. She had a horrible first kidding and the vet couldn't save her (I cried alot).

I was traveling this weekend and haven't got to check in but wanted to say HI GEEBS!!! Welcome back, girl!!

Congrats Don and everyone on your new babies!

I got to visit my flock this weekend. I haven't seen my first test-hatch birds that hatched in September and October for a few months and boy do they grow up fast! I'll post pics of my boy that just turned 6 months old and my almost 7 month old pullets later on.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Seems someone in here, months ago, posted a pic of a rumpless bird. He may just be a slow featherer too? Can you feel the tail where the feathers should be? Congrats on more pullets than roos too!

There's nothing there! Not a nubbin of a tail or anything.. He's very well feathered everywhere else.. just no tail! I guess the next few weeks will tell if he'll get one or not.. maybe after the first moult but he probably won't be staying.. not to sure if I want to breed a rumpless blue copper!

Rumpless Marans ....

He really does look rumpless. I was just thinking like the others that he was just slow to feather out like some males are but looks rumpless to me. Kind of funny looking but very cute too.

I would send gladly her a bill...she wouldn't pay it. Or change her opinion. Thank you for the hug Debbi!

For future predator management, we plan to enforce the SSS method.
