Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. It was simply human error, I don't have any hard feelings against the killer. It was just trying to get by just like all the rest of us. The weasels, foxes, coyotes, bobcat, hawks etc. all do a lot to keep varmints like mice, rats, voles and other little critters that can do a lot more serious damage than kill an occasional chicken. One of the reasons I like living here is that I can look out and see a bobcat or bald eagle. You just have to be smarter than them!

Taprock....M119 is a nice route but I agree, the drive is too slow and I had to remind myself a couple of times to slow down......didn't want any surprises when we rounded some of the curves. On the way back to my Aunt's place we did the simple route...straight down State Rd. As for the pot pies....they are the best!!!

Speaking of tarps, that it what I need to get. The weather isn't going to wait for me to get my rear in gear so that is next on my list when I get back home.

Received my first egg from Crispy (Buff Orp) after 30 weeks of waiting. It looks more like a football than an egg but I'm not complaining.

Beautiful day out there, I need to get busy and enjoy it.

I finally got the time in for the light today. Did a bunch of leaf blowing and set the fire... The neighbor is still burning. I kinda got a little freaked with the wind kicking up, SO I figure I will do more burning later, and even if I don't the pile I need to burn is WAY in back, so.

No, I don't put chile's, peppers in my pasole'. I guess if someone wanted them, then I wouldn't mind chopping em up, but nope, I pass.

Well, here's a pic of some of my girls totally delighted with the light. I had it on for a bit tonight, but made sure all the girls were up on their roosts before I shut it off... I took the pic thru the window, so sorry its blochy.

Its a shop light... We had it in the garage, doing nothing... taking up space. Its flourecent tubes... I hope they are ok for birds. I am not sure if it gets hot, but I guess will find out in the morning...

I have all the different perches as the girls grew. Some dont like the real high ones, and some prefer the lower ones. They are all starting to go higher, but they all will sit on the lower ones near the hole in the floor during the hot days for the cool air that comes up thru the inside walk up. They are all different widths too. Some as wide at 8 inch shelfs, and the smallest is up highest, and its the dowel.
