We moved the brooder right into the coop in the beginning to make their transition smoother, but they slept on the roost bar the first night.

I went back and put a board across the back and front of the poop board to keep bedding up here. Before I did that they would kick it all off in a day or two. Now they occasionally roost on the front board and the roost bar but at least they have bedding to poop into so it's easier to clean up!

DIY Coop we designed and built for our mixed flock of 10 birds. Started with five but chicken math set in early. Made it a shed style building so it would be useful for future homeowners too. Building is 6x8 and right now feeds to a small 6x8 foot enclosed run. Most of the time our flock free ranges.
