I added a continuous metal screen around the edge (inset about a foot) of the ceiling. I ended up using under cabinet puck lights that are mounted just above the screen.

Updated on March 22, 2012 I finally added the trim and cover to conceal the motor. It really reduced the sound of the motor.

Struggling to get a good picture inside.. I still need to install the overhead lights. The patches of lighter colored paint is actually a primer. I filled in a few voids that I missed the first time around, so I primed them and repainted with the final color. I have trim moldings I will use to hide the gap from the wall to the ceiling.

I received my worms on February 29th, 2012. I located and separated my first pupae on March 2nd, 2012. On March 3rd, 2012 I stopped counting after separating 120 pupae. I wasn't digging around for any of these.. they just kept appearing.. wiggling to the top of the substrate. I will update when my first beetle appears. My first beetle appeared this morning March 8th!

How the colony looks nested together. Meal worms on top, Beetles in the middle (when they arrive). The bottom bin will contain the eggs(and mini worms) laid by the beetles in the middle drawer.

They love the apple slices. Update 4-5-2012 They completely devour celery sticks! There is absolutely nothing left when they are finished! That's my new favorite thing to feed them. I would say even better than carrots.
