Well, a week or so ago I posted about an inside out egg that my daughter saw her lay the white, and yolk, and lastly the shell dropped out, and I figured after seeing this one, that other one must have broke as she was laying it, if it was anything like this one, I can see why! Havent cracked...
My daughter was cleaning out our chicken coop today, and she saw one of our hens lay an egg which appeared to come out in stages..first she said the white part came out, then the yolk and then the shell, all seperately. The hen did not appear to be straining to lay this blob of stuff, but what...
Ok, I took a peek in the coop this afternoon to find one of my black- sexlink hens standing in the nest box...she appeared to be straining, so I slowly walked over to her, and it sort of concerned me, as I could hear her actually making straining noises, she would take a deep breath and strain...
I like the lipstick suggestion...I have an ameracauna/EE hen that looks just like yours except that she has no tailfeathers, she lays a pretty blue egg...I have another am/EE hen that lays a pink egg, so it could be your EE that is laying the pinkish egg. It could be the RIR laying the second...

me too! I cant keep them forever...some you get attached to more then others which makes it hard to choose...but they sure do taste good....I have raised our own meat birds as well as the layers, and the meat birds are not around for very long, and all they...

I love my sexlinks, they always come running when they see me to greet me...my one red that I have my 6year old daughter carries it around the yard all the time, plays with it on the swings, etc...and it just lets her do whatever...I have had light brahmas too, and I thought they were the most...
If this roo breeds with my other sex linked hens...will I likely get more hodge podge? All I really care about is that I will still get brown egg layers if I let my broodies do their thing in spring....would egg color change in the next generation? The other baby roo I have from the same hatch...

I agree, Barred Rock, New Hampshire Red, or possibly red-sexlink, NH Red will have a bit of black trim in their tail feathers

We had a BR rooster that totally turned mean, and would actually charge us across the yard, and he ripped a few pairs of jeans while giving him the boot. With small children in our family, ages 4 and 5 at the time...we gave him the ax the moment we could get a hold of him...best tasting soup...
Ok, back in summer when I was desperate to find some fertile eggs for a first time broody, I bought some on ebay.....they were SUPPOSED to be Red Stars, a breed that I have had in the past and loved...when they were born, 3 were light yellow, and we thought they were the males...1 was reddish...
do you think that is a bullseye mark as in "fertile?" then I would say yes, its what you think it is...
I just realized maybe you were asking about the little white thing off to the side of the bullseye...I couldnt tell if that was from the flash of the camera or reflection....if thats the...
