    Free-Roosters

I have several roosters (I think) for free that are about 10 weeks old. They are all very friendly. Bantam Millie Fleur, black java and black Orphinton. Sweet friendly birds. One of them is crowing, not sure which one. I'm pretty sure at least 2 are roosters, two more are either hens or...

    Crested chickens

I have some chicks that are about 6 or 8 weeks old. Crests have come in nice and fluffy. The other chicks I have in with them are starting to show combs that are bright red or small and pink. Is there anyway to figure out what gender a crested chicken is?

    Torn on my meatie Roo...

I posted the whole group on here for sale thinking maybe someone else would want a meatie breeding group. I figure if I don't have him the hens aren't much use to me either and our freezer is stuffed. I would really like to see him used for breeding though...he's such a nice tall roo!

Cornish Roaster Breeding Group - MA/NH/ME

I have available 3 hens and 2 roosters that would make a fabulous group for anyone interested in breeding their own meaties. One rooster is very tall and well muscled and the other is a smaller "back-up" rooster (ok DH kept him by mistake and thought he was a hen!) The girls are all in great...

Letting my broody raise 20 meaties. Now I have a rooster raising 50 CX chicks~new batch!

My were/are WONDERFUL. They are not tough, but they aren't mush like the grocery store chicken either. They have a little firmness to them, but we cook them a little lower than a market chicken and they are SO tasty! Hope to do more in the fall, but will have to do fewer if I'm able to do...

Letting my broody raise 20 meaties. Now I have a rooster raising 50 CX chicks~new batch!

One thing I noticed was that the Jumbo Cornish didn't seem to know HOW to freerange really. Thankfully I raised them with Cornish Roasters who still seemed to have a good bit of the instinct left, and they would watch the cornish roastes and figure it out. They were to the point at about 6...

    Torn on my meatie Roo...

So we processed the majority of our meaties a couple weeks back. I held back a few of the smaller cornish roasters and I held back one large, beautiful well muscled, not obese and really tall roo that was also a cornish...not sure if it was a jumbo or a roaster. We call him "DW" (for Dark...

    holy cow...HELP!

okay, I think it might have been the fan in the incubator that was making him cold. I put him in a little box with a red light on him and he's on a towel and he quieted right down and is resting. When he gets up and is more mobil I'll worry about a mirror and stuff. Right now I just wanted...

    holy cow...HELP!

So I can't even believe it...I hatched a chick! I put 3 eggs into lock down...mainly cause two were brown and I had no idea what I was doing...it didn't seem like any were in the brown eggs, but something was for SURE in the white egg...I had seen it swimming. So I locked them down, and last...
