  • aww sorry she's a mean broody :( . I have had bruises on my hands from getting eggs away from some broody hens. They can be so determined even when eggs aren't fertile. I have a silkie right now trying to sit on golf balls. She's a good girl though she just gets all puffed up and makes sounds at me lol.
Nice, hopefully he turns out to be a good boy for you. Yes I have quite a few different breeds here. Most of them are part of the free-range laying flock, but I have a couple of D'uccles (which are an amazing breed) and a couple of bantam cochins together. Oh and my silkies and showgirls. It's so hard to just keep one breed when they're all so pretty!
He's a pretty boy! Will you be keeping him? Have any girls for him? I'm kind of looking around for a large fowl breed that I enjoy having around to start a small breeding program in the spring. I do like the orp girls but I've only had hatchery stock so I'm pretty sure I'll love them if I get nicer quality Orps. I'm a bit intimidated by roosters since the first one I owned was super aggressive and constantly trying to dominate me. Right now I have an Ameraucana cock-bird that hates when I wear my red plaid pajama pants lol. Thanks for the response Alex ;)
