Last week sunday our guineas hatched 3 dozen happy, health, loud keets. We gathered them up, brought them inside. They have a nice warm light, medicated game bird starter, and vitamin water.
Every morning since I brought them in there is at least one dead bird in the brooder, and I can't...
I have a keet with one leg that likes to trail along behind it. Now if it wanted to stick out horizontal I would hobble it with tape and in a couple of days it would most likely be fine. But I don't know how to treat the poor thing with its trailing leg. I think the problem is in the one hip...
I have no idea how common it is for them to lay two eggs a day. I have more than one hen and they will often share a nest and one will go broody when there are about 40 eggs in the nest. As for the two eggs a day thing I have no idea. Sorry I could not be more help.
Does anybody here have experiences of this being beneficial? I have two geese they are currently penned because I fear they would squish my corn plants. They roamed the yard until I put in the garden and I would like to turn them loose again, because its easier on the feed bill. (and I think...
Five weeks ago I aquired some pekin/rouen mixes and the plan had been to let them forage about my yard. But I began to wonder could my cats take on the ducks and would they? I was hoping that some of you might have info on the matter as I look into what type of enclosure to build the little...
My first batch of chicks that are eight weeks old are stinking up my house, sadly. Last night my husband introduced them to the flock. I know such transitions can be rough so when I went to feed them this morning I did a head count on my babies. The ones hiding behind the feeder seem great...
One of my chickens is acting peculiar. I caught one sneezing this morning and now she does not seem to be eating. She did not come for her evening treats. She seems to be going down the same path of the little peachick I lost last year. If she is not dead in the morning I was thinking of...
Hey, I married into some chickens this summer and my husband since his new wife has become bird crazy bought her an incubator for Christmas. I have been haunting your forum for awhile.
The eggs have been in there for eight days. Two eggs I know are good because I can see...
