    HELP! MY BANTAM IS SICK!!!

I agree, I would treat for coccidiosis first as well. My flock has not had it, but I do know some whose adult chickens have had it.

    Extremely thick white albumen

I have been doing a bit of research on this today and have found that in extremely fresh eggs, the egg white can be cloudy due to the presence of natural carbon dioxide that has not had time to escape the shell. Do you remember how fresh this egg was?

    What's wrong with these eggs?

Marek’s Disease or Reproductive Cancer? | backyard Necropsy Photos | graphic

I have suspected that my flock had Marek’s Disease for a few months, and I suspect who introduced it. One of my girls shows signs of ocular Marek’s, but we noticed a year after we got her, so our whole flock has been exposed. Fast forward to today: we have an Easter egged with ascites (water...

    Roo fight injuries- broken beak??

How is he doing? This looks so painful. I have also seen the tea bag and superglue trick from the Chicken Chick, which seems to be the best method. Separating them seems a good option. Poor boy!

    Swollen foot on my puller

    Swollen foot on my puller

My baby barred rock, Melody, has a swollen foot. I am wondering if it could be broken? It is tender to the touch but I don’t feel anything broken. No signs of mites and I don’t think it is bumble foot (there is one small spot but the top is really swollen to be a mild bumble case). Any other...

    Helpful hints for building coops

We have found that astro turf works well too! If you do not secure it to the floor, you can pull it out, hose it off and scrub it with soapy water and vinegar for an easy clean! Plus, the chickens love to lay on it.

    Cinnamon Swirl eggs!!!

Those are some swanky eggs! Cinnamon galaxy... Here is another great thread describing egg pigmentation and it even has a picture of a cinnamon sprinkled egg like yours. https://www.thehappychickencoop.com/colored-chicken-eggs-guide/ Best I can guess is the swirl comes from the pigmentation...

Hello from my Arizona flock of 9!

I am relatively new to chickens, only owning my own flock for about six months. I have taken care of them longer but I am excited to have my own! My flock of nine consists of three silkies, two Buff Orphingtons, two Ameraucaunas, one Barred Rock, and one Blue Lace Wyandotte (my favorite). I...
