    Duckling Death?

the other tsc duckling is doing fine thankfully! smaller than my two rescues, but it's plenty lively and is putting on weight steadily, i have them in the same room that i typically spend the most time in so I can keep a close eye on them, but there haven't been any changes

    Duckling Death?

about fifteen to twenty minutes, depending on the weather, since i don't want them to get cold (though the temp outside's been about 80)

    Duckling Death?

the dead one and the other tractor supply duckling never interacted with the incubator, but i hatched two ducklings in it. There are four total including the one that died (three now) in the brooder. the picture up top is the brooder, the ceramic heating lamp heats one half to about 95 while...

    Duckling Death?

yep, that's the one. Two of them were my own rescue incubations. The one that passed and one other were bought from tractor supply co. as companions just incase anything happened to either of the first two (i've heard raising them alone can cause psychological problems)

    Duckling Death?

i clean out their brooder once a day and the food and water twice a day, all of the ducklings were a week old and two of them are my own rescue hatchlings. the one that died was a hatchling that i got from tractor supply co. (which i'm learning was a bad idea, but there isn't anywhere else...

    Duckling Death?

One of my ducklings died earlier today, i'm torn up inside about it, but I need to put that aside to make sure the other three stay healthy. the symptoms started with lethargy and some minor sneezing, I thought maybe it was because the water dish wasn't deep enough so I added a new dish that...

Can one duckling hatching cause the other to early hatch?

I don't think so! the incubation of the first egg only took 29 days and the second even less time! Muskovy typically take about 35 days to hatch, right?

    Breed Identification Help?

I have a pond out front and I'm planning to build a coop for them! there are always some abandoned eggs each year from the feral flock so I might start a proper flock now that I know I can incubate successfully. I definitely wouldn't try to release them, since they're imprinted on me and as you...

it's very likely that's the case :D the feral flock it's from has quite a few breeds in it.

Can one duckling hatching cause the other to early hatch?

I'm aware that natives aren't legal to keep, the eggs are from a feral domestic duck colony that lives at the nearby lake.

Can one duckling hatching cause the other to early hatch?

It's possible, but the second egg was pretty clearly abandoned on the concrete, we waited for about an hour for any mama duck to stop by. Since that area has a lot of off leash dogs. (edit! we also candled them right after picking them up, sorry I forgot to mention)

    Breed Identification Help?

One of my rescue ducks hatched friday and I was thinking they might be at least part Khaki Campbell, but I wanted to get some second opinions! (plus I get to show off how cute they are)
