I always do chick starter for my babies along with probiotics and electrolytes in their water. It gives them a good start. Then once they’re big enough I free range them. They know where their coop is and I still keep fresh water and a mix of egg layer pellets and scratch grain.
Thank you all! My husband is a contractor. The chicken wire is on one side and then a very much smaller wire on the other side. I haven’t had a problem with anything getting into it, I’ve had it for three years now.
Okay, I just got six silkies from TSC about three days ago. Was told they were three days old but, they usually don’t have any clue. This is the worst hatch rate I’ve ever had. 1 out of 12.
Should I put another chick in with it?
should I put another chick in with it? All my others are at least a week old and this polish is only two days old.
I’ve only had one Polish hatch in the incubator. It stayed in there for two days and is now in a crate with probiotics & electrolytes and chick starter. It’s about to drive me crazy with all the chirping. Should I put one of my week old babies in with it?
