Thanks!
From what I am seeing the Brinsea is going to run $80 or so higher. I get into and out of egg hatching depending on my want/demand for chicks. I got the Mini for hatching a few eggs at the time but I just amazed me. My old Hovabator has been beat banged and misabused but still...
I have had a older Hovabator wafer thermostat/forced air incubator for the past ten+ years. I have hatched many of eggs with pretty good results with it. I have not hatched eggs in a year or so so I recently got a Brinsea mini advance to do small batches and got a 12 out of 12 first hatch of...
Thinking of building an outdoor roost for guineas and some game hens. Thought about a raised roost with metal poles do keep climbers out. I have had a couple in a tree that are doing fine but I know they are not safe by anymeans.
I got thirty mixed pullet chicks from Murrary a few months ago. I still have about four each of blue andalusias, RIR, barred rock, and black star. I would like to hatch some chicks ONE day so I am thinking of keeping the barreds and the RIR and get a RIR rooster. Figure I could have RIRs and...
Who uses it? I would like to let my chickens out more but they do not need to free range too far. Where is the best place to buy? Any hints/tips?
Thanks,
Scott
If running 120 power is not an option I woud do the same thing (with 12 volt bulbs, no inverter) the off the grid guys do. I would wire it with 120V wire and switches but install 12 volt bulbs and use a deep cycle battery with a solar charger. It would be aliltle pricey but it will work and be...
RIR, Black star, Blue Andelusia, and maybe a barred rock. I have a few extra of the others. Oh yea I have a few Cochin batams I may part with that are semi grown.
Think I am going to build a tractor out of steel tubing to be lighter and easier to move than wood. Figure I could anchor it with dog tie outs or something of the sort. Any input, ideas? I am a much better welder than carpenter so it makes ever more sense to me.
Since you're in GA I guess you could understand it's not as full or nice looking right now. I usually pump water in it but did not this year. Hey it may fill up now thanks to Fay!! We are getting some pretty good rain now.
The pump is 150 yards away but the holding tank is in there. I am thinking more about moving the pen further back in the yard to keep from having to try and make it too pretty. Too many options I guess.
I seldom get wild fowl. When I have they did not stick around long.
