hi has anyone made some type of electric feeder? I would be interested to see any designs and hear about them. Everything else in my coop is automated for the most part except the feed.
I've recently gotten married and moved out to my own house. But now my wife has just informed me that I can't have any chickens! She said she doesn't eat eggs so we don't need any. All I wanted was two or three in a small coop and run in the back yard. Just hens so no rooster crowing or anything...

I use to feed them layena and then switched to hog topper because it was cheaper and the protein was higher. Is that still the case the higher the protein the better? Sorry for asking dumb questions but I've been out of the loop for a couple years now
I've tried all types of different feeds and things for the hens and have been out of the chicken business and haven't been on this site in a year or more but I'm back lol and trying to get my flock back up again now that I have money and spare time. Right now they still eating cheap scratch feed...

you have to be extremely careful with putting a tarp over the run u should make sure you cut a hole in it for drainage if not the weight of the water on it will sag it in the middle thus pulling down the sides of your run. learned this the hard way lol
