Thanks for your help. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this, I got that darn flu and then had alot of catching up to do. The chicks are so big, I will put the Moma & them with the other hens as soon as our weather stays above 50 degrees here!

I have 2 week old chicks with the Moma Hen in a brooder pen. How long do I leave her with them and how do I go about putting her back with the other chickens? We have never hatched eggs before and so this is really new to us.It's so interesting watching these chicks with the Moma.

I will try the olive oil. Caught her tonight and she let me look down her throat,(even laid her tongue down) but I couldn't see anything. If something is caught it's way down there. Other than the olive oil I don't think I will bother her about it. She just sounds weird, and shakes her head all...

I have a 18 month Coachin who "coughs" and sounds like she has something in her throat. It's been like that for a long time, and she eats, drinks, lays eggs with no aparent problem. I thought it would go away after a while when it didn't make her sick, now I want to check if there really is...

When I cook hard boiled eggs some of the yokes come out with a greenish/gray colorbetween the white part & the yellow yoke. What causes this does anybody know? It dosen't happen all the time, but when it does it looks funky. Is it ok to eat them that way? Thanks for your help:)

I have never raised chicks before, always bought them when ready to lay. Now I have 12- 6 day old Buff Bramas. Cute, cute, cute! But my question is most of them have poop stuck on their butts. Should I try & remove it or just leave it alone. I am afraid they won't be able to poop past the big...

:)Thanks...my husband says she just has a "comb-over". Looked closer at it today (they free range so I can't always check them) and the color looked good on the whole comb, so won't worry anymore.

I have a 1 yr old Red Sex-Linked that has just in the last week had her comb fall down. She seems to be eating & drinking and fine in all other aspects, do I need to worry about this?
