    The worst part of the whole thing is that one of those chickens made a fool of me. My daughter came in carrying an egg, saying look dad, this egg is soft. I told her to just wait a minute and it would get hard. Imma get that bird!:D

    I have an Americana, she's well over two years old, and hasn't laid an egg in over a year. She's not eating well, and is almost just feathers and bones. I'm wondering if a nice hot bowl of chicken soup might bring her back around?

    I don't recall if I mentioned it, but you can put about a quarter of a bottle of everclear into their water to keep it from freezing. It'll cost a little more each month, but your chickens will think you're a God.
