His poops don't look like any in the link. They're very light green, almost like an extremely watered down version of the poo expected soon after hatching.
He has gotten slightly worse as the day has gone on. I've been making him drink rehydration solution every hour and have managed to force...
The rest seem to be doing fine but this one is just sleeping constantly, he can walk but only seems to do a few steps then falls down again. He hasn't eaten and is only taking water when I force him to. He just did a very watery lime green poop. Any ideas on whats wrong and how I can help him?
Ok, so he's off the sawdust, I'm feeding him a drop of olive oil once an hour and he has molasses in his water but still no poops. His vent is not blocked at all from the outside, but very swollen as if it's blocked form inside. He also smells pretty bad... he's tweeting constantly and sounds so...
Chick is 3 days old, he has pooped since he hatched.... but he didn't poop at all last night, I can't see any from him today- he is on sawdust so it's possible its just soaked in. He's a lone chick and is eating (or at least trying to) and drinking fine but his fluff above and below his vent is...
New fuzzy bum completely out of his shell tweeting in the incubator!
I chipped all the way round the egg and he had pushed himself out within half an hour! Thanks for your quick advice! Me and my chickens are happy that you were so quick to reply!
Out of 6 eggs, one was fertile and started to hatch. It pipped 2 days ago and zipped 1/3 of the way round but hasn't moved on any further in the last 24 hours. The chick has its beak stuck out of the egg and is still tweeting but less frequently... is it wise to intervene or an I just being...
Oh no! Shes not giving in that easy! I've had that set-up since she hatched in hope this wouldn't happen! Shes got a duck in there with her but it apparently just doesn't compare to a 'real' hug.
I really need to sleep tonight!
I have a week only booted bantam chick with attitude. For the past few nights she has refused to stop 'screeching' until someone picks her up, this goes on the whole night, last night I gave in and let her sleep in the bed but this isn't really practical to be doing once she's a bit bigger...
But look what I found!
Meet Freya, my first EVER chicken!
It looks like Freya is going to be an only child but we'll make sure to give her lots of squeezy hugs!
He looks a bit rough, you have done the right thing by keeping him for the night, let him go in the morning when he is all rested up and has recuperated, he should fly home but if he hangs around you want to get in touch with the American Racing Pigeon Union and tell them, they are responsible...
