    My hen is almost 8 years old and was laying last month for a couple weeks. Now she is lethargic and closing her eyes, could it be a reproductive problem if she hasn't laid in almost 4 weeks? Her poop is solid mostly, but has been liquid today.

    My chicken gasps for air every few seconds, even while trying to sleep. She has mucus blocking her air pipe and it comes out her mouth. She's had this condition for years. I tried denegard and a dewormer but they haven't helped, do you know how much CS to use for her?

    I like that too. Her wattle is even smaller than my EE's. She's a pretty good layer I'd say. I'm in California.

    That's what the pet shop employee told me but thank goodness I wasn't deterred by that. I think the hens look better than the roosters too, but you have to get them young in order for them to bond with you, and since they can't be sexed as chicks you have a 50% chance it can be male. I'm happy...

    I have one, but I forgot the breed she is. Saipan Jungle Fowl? She is the tamest hen I ever had out of keeping 40+ chickens. She's not scared of me and rushes my pant leg every time she sees me.
