Birdbrain2's flock and coop page.
I have 6 young pullets. 1-golden laced wayendotte. 2-barred rocks. 3-rhode island reds.
The coop I am planning is 6'x4' and the run is 6'x11' total is 6'x15'.
It is now early November.
A couple of weeks later i was able to get the siding up...
i have a 8-9 month old hen that is looking a little ruff, was thinking maybe it was molting. i went outside to look at her and then noticed her underside was almost bald and all i could see where quills. is that normal when molting? i thought it would all fall out, or is this new quills and...
i have a coop and run that are one unit and share the same roof. i usually let them out into secondary run when i can't be out to supervise (watch for dogs). so apparently the wind blew the main run door shut and kept one hen from going in to roost at dusk. i was inside asleep on the couch, when...
my coop and run are one whole unit sharing the same roof. right now i keep the coop pop door open all day/night. it is preditor safe. i keep no food or water in coop just the run. but when winter comes this year will i have to close up the coop at night to prevent cold drafts and open it in the...

I'm sure if it was an issue traps would be set.
traps only get rid of one problem then more will move in. it sounds like your neighbors aren't the best, but like i said you must protect your chickens.
I am in know way siding with your neighbors. my neighbors dog attacked my chickens...
yes but how is a neighbors dog any different than a raccoon or hawk?
if it was a raccoon than this would not be an issue. but yet still have the same problem. i am sure their neighbors dog is keeping coons away. like I said i feel for monarc23, and understand their frustration. but you must...
again Yes I would be mad too, but if you can't protect your chickens from a local dog than you are still not safe from raccoons, opossums and what not. they should keep their chickens safe. if my neighbors dog broke thru my run or coop then i would make it safer. I am sorry to be the devils...
sorry I did not read all the responses, but I think you are on the wrong side. why, if you voice your willingness to shoot your neighbors dog over your chickens, then you are not being a good neighbor ( thats pretty hostile) that in it self is asking for hostility. my neighbors dog has already...
