    Could be i'm dense, but I don't see what you're asking about I was referring to the red "stripe" up this roos leg, but was told on serama thread it is normal and preferred.

    Thank you. Just got him so I've quarantined him and the bantam silkie that he came with. Just wasn't sure. I have a serama hen already but this is my first roo of the type and trying to learn more about the breed.

    Finally found layers nearby to replace the lost flock from the fox incident. However one of the poor girls are in full fledged molt now (assuming due to stress) and is rumpless and lowest on the pecking order.     Thanks all for the suggestions. The coop in question is now abandoned due to lack of occupants. I may wait to replace my girls until spring but will keep those ideas in mind.
