Golden Seabright and Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Bantams

First time raising Seabrights and Wyandotte Bantams. Do these 7-week-old chicks look like Pullets or Roos? The seabrights have such diverse combs, and I don't see oversized waddles yet. Also, the Wyandottes were so much bigger in the earlier weeks and i thought they were roos, but now I'm...

I bought 6 chicks from a local hardware store this spring, they were labeled as EE chicks but I have raised EE chickens in the past that had the Ameraucana in the past but these are looking a little different. Instead of the puff cheek feathers my last ones had, these has a tuff on top of the...

Quote: Each of us knows our chickens I'm sure, I have one Adult Roo that is crowing..After hearing his crow for awhile now and sleeping with the windows open, I can assure you that the only roo crowing is the Leghorn. Not to mention during the day when he starts his crowing spill, I go out...

Hens have not layed for two weeks now??

I have also seen a huge production hit the last few months.... I live in Nevada and thought it was the heat, then the cool weather came and still down to 2-4 eggs a day when I have 12-13 hens. I did switch to lay-mash and no scratch and it has helped the last couple of days.

    Non-Crowing Roo?

Quote: Ya, my thoughts excactly. As you can see I putt them outside the coop on thier own to see what they will do, the bigger red one also is a bully and would eat all of the food and not let the other smaller chickens eat.

    *First Time* Broody Hen

Ok this is my first go around with broody hen. I have a few questions, 1) she is not the top hen on the hen pole and gets kicked off of her eggs so that the other hens who are above her on the pecking order will lay in her nest. She paiently waits and jumps back on when they are done. There are...
