Ok two weeks later. You guys are right the Seabrights all the ones that you said were Roos started crowing. The Wyandotte’s have not and they still look like hens to me. What’s your thoughts now?
First time raising Seabrights and Wyandotte Bantams. Do these 7-week-old chicks look like Pullets or Roos? The seabrights have such diverse combs, and I don't see oversized waddles yet. Also, the Wyandottes were so much bigger in the earlier weeks and i thought they were roos, but now I'm...
I bought 6 chicks from a local hardware store this spring, they were labeled as EE chicks but I have raised EE chickens in the past that had the Ameraucana in the past but these are looking a little different. Instead of the puff cheek feathers my last ones had, these has a tuff on top of the...

Ya, my thoughts excactly. As you can see I putt them outside the coop on thier own to see what they will do, the bigger red one also is a bully and would eat all of the food and not let the other smaller chickens eat.
I have some chicks that I raised from incubator...One of them I thought was a hen until it started to eat more and grow quicker and bigger. Big feet no spurs and he does not CROW...
I believe these might be roos too...can anyone confirm?
Ok this is my first go around with broody hen. I have a few questions,
1) she is not the top hen on the hen pole and gets kicked off of her eggs so that the other hens who are above her on the pecking order will lay in her nest. She paiently waits and jumps back on when they are done. There are...
